Photovoltaic Farms

At Felipe Ángeles International Airport, there are 3 photovoltaic farms for the generation of electricity through the use of solar panels, which together generate 2.1 megawatt hours of electricity.

In the photovoltaic farm with the largest capacity, up to 1.5 Mega watts equivalent are produced to provide electricity service to 1,500 homes, while the other 2 farms produce 499 kilowatts of energy in each, equivalent to providing electricity to 667 homes.

Reducing the emission of 372,000 kg of CO2 into the environment, equivalent to planting 13,608 trees.

With this type of technology used by the Felipe Ángeles International Airport, savings of between 50 and 70% of the total electrical energy consumed in the Aeroportuario-Militar complex are generated, which reduces the emission of CO2 into the environment by up to 40%.

In addition, the Airport has a lighting system based on LED technology with intelligent control, through the implementation of motion sensors, which allows a saving of 60% in electricity consumption
