Read more about the high-tech infrastructure with AIFA to reduce its environmental impact
Felipe Ángeles International Airport has high-tech infrastructure positioning itself as a sustainable and environmentally friendly airport.
It operates with a turbine based on natural gas, with an electrical power generation capacity of up to 12 Mega Watts hour, equivalent to the supply of 16,000 homes per month.
In this plant, the thermal energy of the hot gases generated by the Turbine is used to provide hot water to the heating system and is complemented by 4,800 tons of refrigeration to provide air conditioning to the Passenger Terminal Building.
Achieving reducing carbon dioxide emissions from 26,566,871 Kg to 21,910,821 Kg compared to conventional electricity generation.
With the use of natural gas, the National Development Plan is complied with, as well as the applicable regulations on clean energy.
With the implementation of these technologies, the Felipe Ángeles International Airport reaffirms its commitment to reduce its environmental impact, working daily for the benefit of Mexico.
